BIG PICTURE: We are inviting you to join a group of 20-25 friends to spend a 3-night weekend in the Smoky Mountains.

A group of us wants to do something to get away from the city, BUT we want something MORE than just an excursion. And we DON'T want some drunk keg fest either. We want it to be about something bigger than us, something with substance, something that involves God.

Take 20+ friends. Add in some nature, the woods, mountains, fresh air, and the basic elements. Mix it with some worship around a campfire. Add some talking with other young adults about God, scripture, and its relevance in our lives. Throw in hiking to a waterfall, some jacuzzi time, maybe some Hillbilly golf, and some good ol' chilling out in the mountains. And you get this.

When

WHEN: August 3- August 6. Leave Thursday evening August 3rd, come back the afternoon of Sunday the 6th. That's right, you will need to take a vacation day from work on Friday the 4th. In the past it seems leaving Friday night and coming back Sunday, time just goes too quick. You don't get enough time to catch up from all the driving.

For our teacher friends, this shouldn't be a problem. Most other people have a couple vacation days to spare anyway. We are only taking one big caravan of cars down Thursday, not on Friday. That's why you are getting this email NOW as opposed to July.

Deadline to sign up

DEADLINE TO SIGN UP: See below for deposit. We are taking "yes" responses STARTING April 4 through April 9 @ 1pm . This gives everyone a chance to read their email and think about it. FIRST COME FIRST SERVE! We can only count your "yes" response when we receive the deposit. We have a large deposit for the lodge on someone's credit card, so we need to pay that off to avoid finance charges. Give your deposit to one of the team members if you want to sign up, or mail it to me. James Allen 3753 Eastern Ave, #3 Cincinnati OH 45226. Entries will be accepted between April 4 and April 9. Questions, wanna talk face-to-face?We will be having a metting at Jennifer's house April 8th to discuss the details and to answer any of your questions. We will also be collecting deposit money that night. Afterwards we will have a Game night. Even if you don't want to commit to the trip, please join us for the game night! Event will start at 8pm. Agenda

AGENDA: Of course the Smoky's- a lot to see down there. Some worship, group prayer, bible study. Some Hillbilly golf or some other fun adventure. Hike to see a waterfall down there. We don't have the details down yet, but it is in the process. We will have things to do, but I assure you it won't be cram-packed go-go-go either.

Where

WHERE: The "Wild Turkey" Lodge near Smoky Mountains/Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg. Yee-haw! No, they don't manufacture whiskey there (that's at David's house). Here's a link. http://www.sugarmaplecabins.com/cabin.asp?property_id=905 Sleeps 20+ adults. Non-smoking.

Cost

COST: Deposit $50 due upfront. Non-refundable Total approx $200 (deposit counts towards total)
Breakdown:
- $110 for lodging (3 nights for 8 bedrooms)
- $40 for gas (remember, assume $3 a gallon)
- $50 for food (we will have a plan for meals, to be announced later)
- The total however does not cover any cost to do leisure activities like Hillbilly golf (if we do it), a quick fast food meal on the drive down Thursday night, or going out for breakfast Sunday morning before the drive back.
- There is a good chance we may have more $$ than we need. If so, we will evenly divide out whatever is leftover to everyone 1 week after the trip. I'd rather ask for too much up front than not enough.
